Messages, iMessage, WhatsApp, and many other chat apps do not provide the same export controls. Screenshots are a consistent option because you decide exactly which visible conversation segment to capture, and MsgPort does not need your chat account login.

1. Show the context you need

Open the correct conversation and decide the first and last message before capturing. Show the contact or group name, date separators, reply quotes, and timestamps when they matter. Dismiss the keyboard, selection menus, reaction panels, and notification banners so they do not cover text.

2. Capture from oldest to newest

Move in one direction and leave one or two repeated message bubbles between screenshots. That small overlap helps you confirm continuity and prevents missing messages between frames. Do not jump between conversations during the same set.

3. Preserve full image quality

Use the iPhone screenshot buttons instead of photographing the screen. Avoid sending the images through services that compress them before import. Keep portrait orientation and the same display zoom for the entire sequence.

Quick quality check

Use the free chat screenshot quality checker to flag blur, low resolution, exposure problems, landscape images, or inconsistent widths. It does not run OCR or extract message text.

4. Use a screen recording for very long chats

For a long conversation, a slow screen recording can be easier than dozens of screenshots. Scroll at a steady speed, pause briefly at date changes or media, and keep the keyboard and notifications hidden.

5. Review important details after recognition

Even a clear capture can contain ambiguous characters. Review names, dates, phone numbers, amounts, URLs, emojis, and similar characters such as zero and the letter O. For important records, keep the original screenshots or recording alongside the export.

Export on iPhone without a computer

Import the prepared screenshots or recording into MsgPort, review the recognized conversation, then choose PDF for reading and printing, CSV for structured rows, or TXT for search and copying.
