A chat screenshot is easy to save but difficult to search, quote, or move into another workflow. OCR turns the messages you can see back into usable text while preserving the conversation order you captured.
MsgPort works from the screenshots or screen recording you choose. It does not sign in to Messages, iMessage, WhatsApp, Instagram, or another chat account, and it does not require a desktop backup.
Capture a readable conversation
Keep participant names, date separators, and complete message bubbles visible when they matter. Hide the keyboard and notifications. For consecutive screenshots, repeat one or two messages between images so the transition is easy to verify.
Import screenshots or a screen recording
For a short thread, select multiple screenshots in chronological order. For a long conversation, start an iPhone screen recording and scroll at a steady pace. Pause briefly around dates, replies, or dense sections so each frame remains legible.

Review the OCR result
Check participant names, short messages, dates, numbers, URLs, and amounts. Emoji, stickers, unusual fonts, motion blur, and partially covered bubbles may need manual attention. Reviewing these details is especially important before using the result as a record.
Choose a useful export format
- TXT: lightweight, searchable, and easy to copy into Notes or email.
- CSV: separates messages into rows for Numbers, Excel, or Google Sheets.
- PDF: creates a readable document for printing, archiving, or sharing.
